Walking: Strollers 👟

The Strollers Group meets every third Wednesday of the month. These walks are 2½ to 4 miles.

We try to visit a place of interest en route and usually manage to find a tea shop. Places have included Valley Gardens at Harrogate, Roundhay Park, Ripley, and Saltaire/Shipley Glen.

We are planning some canal and riverside walks, Ripon parks, York river walk. Our enjoyment is from the surroundings and the company.

Enjoy a stroll along the canal making a visit to the small marina and then along the canal in the other direction (2.5 miles) to picnic. There is an opportunity here to extend the walk to a nature reserve to do some bird-watching (making the whole walk 4.5 miles) should anyone wish to do so. There is absolutely no obligation to do this.

Bring a packed lunch which we will eat at picnic tables by the canal. Afternoon refreshments will be available towards the end of the walk.

Meet in Leeds railway station, at the New Station Street entrance at 10:20 to catch the train at 10:47 am. Purchase an off-peak day return ticket to Brighouse, £4.50 with metro card.
