Walking: 7Up 🧭
Welcome to the 7 Up Walking Group which, as the name implies, provides walks of any distance over 7 miles.
The walks will be on the 4th Wednesday of every month and details of these walks will be posted on the programme here, along with the contact number of the walk leader.
All walks will be circular unless otherwise stated. Walkers should wear footwear and clothing suitable to the terrain and weather conditions. Food and drink and a sit mat are also advisable.
Walkers are reminded that they attend walks in this programme at their own risk, and that they are responsible for their own safety.

8 mile circular walk – Otley Chevin
We start at the Royalty Pub LS21 3DG and head over to Surprise View. A path takes us west into the Chevin which we leave shortly to come out at York Gate. We then cross the West Chevin Road, head along Gill Brow, cross the A6038 to get to the Equestrian Centre. Crossing a dismantled railway and golf and course, Eastfield Lane we out at the A65. We pass through Burley in Wharfedale along Carr Beck to get to Bleach Mill. We head into Menston and come out at Moor Top. Coming along a path parallel to York Gate we come back to the Royalty car park.
We have permission to park here prior to the walk which starts at 1030.
If you wish to carshare, please meet at MASSC in time to leave there at 0945 and let Ray know ifyou are doing this.
As always please wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather of the day and bring refreshments and a sitmat.

7 mile circular walk – Burley in Wharfedale moors walk
We meet in Burley in Wharfedale at the car park behind Queens Hall off Long Meadows, LS29 7BT. We walk up past the train station, crossing Moor Road and up onto Burley Moor. We will have our lunch break in a small disused quarry. Then along the moors, down through Burley Woodhead and gradually make our way back down into Burley in Wharfedale. The walk has a number of sturdy stiles. We will be walking uphill for some time to get onto the moors.
Please bring your lunch and sitmat. Meet at 1030 at the car park. If the carpark is full, parking on the street is possible.
Meet at 0930 at MASSC for carsharing.
