Walking: 7Up π§
Welcome to the 7 Up Walking Group which, as the name implies, provides walks of any distance over 7 miles.
The walks will be on the 4th Wednesday of every month and details of these walks will be posted on the programme here, along with the contact number of the walk leader.
All walks will be circular unless otherwise stated. Walkers should wear footwear and clothing suitable to the terrain and weather conditions. Food and drink and a sit mat are also advisable.
Walkers are reminded that they attend walks in this programme at their own risk, and that they are responsible for their own safety.
If you would like to lead a walk during the next year, or for any other information, please get in touch.

We will have our lunch break in a small disused quarry. Then along the moors, down through Burley Woodhead and gradually make our way back down into Burley in Wharfedale. The walk has a number of sturdy stiles. We will be walking uphill for some time to get onto the moors.
Please bring your lunch and sitmat. Meet at 1030 at the car park. If the carpark is full, parking on the street is possible.

7 mile circular around Bramham
Category: Easy
Main attraction of this walk is the landscaped parkland of the Bramham estate.
We meet in Bramham at the small Diamond Jubilee Garden on Front Street, near the junction with Lyndon Avenue. Park on Front Street. (Arriving from Thorner Road, cross the A1M and turn left at the T-junction on to Paradise Way. This bends right, becomes Wetherby Road, which in turn becomes Front Street as it drops down towards village centre.)
We cross the southern half of Bramham Park before taking paths through woodland and farmland to return to the village. Most of the route is on good tracks and there are no stiles! There are stepping stones across a small stream, but these are wide and closely spaced.
Long trousers are advised as some paths will be a little overgrown in July. Please bring your lunch and a sitmat. Meet at Diamond Jubilee Garden to start walking at 10.30.
Meet at MASSC at 9.55 for car sharing.

The Battle of Towton and beyond
Category: moderate
Start/Finish: Rockingham Arms, Towton LS24 9PB at 1030am
The walk starts by going round the battle fields then on to Old London Road which is actually a bridleway. Keeping to bridleways and quiet lanes, with views across to Tadcaster, we reach the village of Stutton, the furthest point on our walk. The return to Towton is by field paths. There is a boggy patch so boots are recommended! We have permission to park in the pub car park where we will be expected to take refreshments. Please use the overflow section to the back of the pub rather than at the side. Meet at MASSC for car sharing in time to leave at 0945.
